Psychologist

About the role

Ishar is seeking a dedicated Registered or Clinical Psychologist to provide individual counselling and support to women from diverse cultural backgrounds, aged 18 and above, who are facing mild to moderate mental health challenges. The position is based at the Ishar office in Cannington.

This is a part-time role, available one to three days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays) for an independent contractor. Hours are flexible, ranging from 9 am to 4:30 pm. 


Selection Criteria
Essential (please address these in your application)

  1. Full registration with AHPRA

  2. Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number, ABN and to bulk-bill client appointments

  3. Experience working with interpreters

  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and set boundaries

  5. A strong work ethic and ability to align with the organisation’s values

  6. Experience in delivering counselling or therapy within a clinical setting

  7. Effective time management

    1. Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.

    2. Current WA police clearance dated within the last 12 months.

    3. Current WA Working with Children’s Check. Our organisation is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. We require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment.

    1. Administrative support including:

      Booking appointments

      Changing appointments

      Booking interpreters (where required)

      Contacting clients under your guidance

    2. 90% of Medicare billings offered and no other on-costs
