Practice Nurse (part-time)

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is looking to take a break from their demanding role in hospital or aged care with a desire to help the community in a wonderful not-for-profit organisation. You will provide high-quality administration and clinical service delivery for the Women’s Health Clinics through effective nursing care, customer service and compliance using a woman-centred approach in liaison with key stakeholders and within funding agreements.

This is a part-time role (30 hours per week) from Tuesday to Friday. This is a fixed–term maternity leave relief contract until 31st October 2025, with the potential for extension. SCHCADS Award 4.1 Salary packaging and other benefits are offered.                   


Selection Criteria
Essential (please address these in your application)

  1. Current registration as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse with AHPRA (NMBA), with relevant respective formal nursing qualification.

  2. Previous experience in a healthcare setting.

  3. Empathetic understanding of health matters pertaining to working with women from multicultural backgrounds, including recently arrived humanitarian refugees and other migrants.

  4. Well organised with an ability to follow direction, meet deadlines and manage priorities through effective time management in time pressured environments. 

  5. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in cross-cultural environments with a professional approach. 

  6. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and initiative, able to work under pressure. 

  7. Punctual and dependable, ensuring clinic is prepared for GPs on time and ready to greet clients on arrival

  8. Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including competency in the use of MS Office, with the aptitude to learn new software and systems.

  9. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.

    1. Experience working and understanding of the not-for-profit community sector.

    2. Experience working with refugee and migrant populations in a community-based organisation.

    3. Fluency in a second language, other than English.

    4. Experience working with interpreters

    1. Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.

    2. Current WA police clearance dated within the last 12 months.

    3. Current driver’s license, willing and able to use own roadworthy and insured vehicle for work purposes.
